EV + EIC Certification: Two Requirements, One Certificate
EV certificates are now live in Certly.
But rather than simply adding another standalone certificate, we’ve approached EV certification around something electricians using Certly told us was causing unnecessary work.
For EV installations where both EV-specific certification and an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) are required, electricians can end up entering some of the same information twice.
So we’ve combined them.
With Certly, EV + EIC certification can be completed as one combined certificate, helping reduce duplicate input and make EV installation paperwork quicker to complete.
EV Certificate Software Without the Duplicate Entry
Adding EV certification to Certly wasn't just about creating another digital form.
We wanted to make the process better.
Feedback from electricians highlighted a simple frustration: completing the EV documentation and then working through an EIC can mean entering information that has already been recorded.

The important difference is that this isn't simply two separate certificates sitting next to each other.

You can work through the standard electrical installation information alongside the EV-specific sections without having to start again with another completely separate certificate.
That makes the process simpler for electricians carrying out EV charger installations and removes unnecessary repetition from the certification process.

The new EV certificate includes dedicated sections for the information relevant to EV charging installations while retaining the electrical installation certification that may also be required for the job.
That means electricians can work through the certification in a logical order rather than jumping between different forms and repeating information.
The aim is the same as with the rest of Certly:
less admin, less repetition and a cleaner route to a completed certificate.
Complete EV Certification on Site
Certly can be used across mobile, tablet and desktop, giving electricians flexibility over how they complete EV certification.
You might use a tablet or Surface Pro while working around the installation, make changes from your phone, or finish reviewing the certificate later from a Windows PC or laptop.

Immediate Sync Across Your Devices

EV Certificates and QS Sign-Off
For electrical contractors, completing the certificate may only be one stage of the process.
The finished EV + EIC certificate may also need to move through internal review and approval.
