WHY WE BUILT CERTLY

We’ve done the work.
We know the friction.

Certly grew from the experience of running an electrical testing company, and seeing where certification could work better for the people doing it.

Two perspectives.
One shared purpose.

CO-FOUNDER

Andy

Andy began his electrical apprenticeship in 2003, started lecturing in 2011 and became National Operations Manager in 2014. From the tools to the classroom to nationwide delivery, he understands what engineers need on site, how they learn and what teams need to deliver at scale.

CO-FOUNDER

Dan

Dan set up a large surveying company in 2009, eventually working with councils and housing associations. In 2015, the business expanded into government energy surveying. That experience shaped a focus on accuracy, attention to detail and making the whole process work properly.

2017 / A SHARED DIRECTION

Then we came together.

In 2017, we came together to run a national electrical compliance company. With electricians across the country and an office team keeping everything moving, we experienced certification from every angle.

50
electricians nationwide
20
office staff
30,000+
certificates every year

We trialled every certification software package we could find. At that scale, the friction added up—and we knew something needed to be done.

That became Certly: built from the experience of the people doing the work.

From the work that shaped us to the releases that keep Certly moving.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND CERTLY

Built on the job.
Built for the job.

Andy

It started on the tools.

Andy begins his electrical apprenticeship. Learning the trade on real jobs builds the practical understanding that will later help shape Certly.
